Cannot connect to VPN

In Windows 11, VPN sign-in information is usually saved for quick and easy access. However, there might be instances where you need to clear this sign-in information, such as when you have recently reset your password but Windows insists using the old stored password as VPN credentials. Follow the steps below to clear your VPN sign-in info.

Incorrect password message when trying to connect to VPN

  1. Click on your Start Menu.
  2. Select the Settings icon to open the settings window.

    Alternatively, you can use a shortcut and press Win + I on your keyboard to open the Settings quickly.

  3. In the settings window, select the Network & internet category.
  4. Click on VPN in the left-hand column to navigate to the VPN settings.
  5. Look for the VPN that you want to clear the sign-in info for, it will be called either XGS VPN or XGS Meraki VPN CHA, and click on the VPN name.
  6. In the VPN settings, locate and select Advanced Options button.
    Here, you should see the option for Clear sign-in info.
  7. Click on the Clear sign-in info button.A pop-up may appear to confirm this operation; if it does, confirm that you want to clear the sign-in info.

After performing these steps, the sign-in information for your selected VPN connection should now be cleared in Windows 11. The next time you connect to the VPN, you will need to re-enter your credentials.
