In Windows 11, VPN sign-in information is usually saved for quick and easy access. However, there might be instances where you need to clear this sign-in information, such as when you have recently reset your password but Windows insists using the old stored password as VPN credentials. Follow the steps below to clear your VPN sign-in info.
Incorrect password message when trying to connect to VPN
- Click on your Start Menu.
- Select the Settings icon to open the settings window.
- In the settings window, select the Network & internet category.
- Click on VPN in the left-hand column to navigate to the VPN settings.
- Look for the VPN that you want to clear the sign-in info for, it will be called either XGS VPN or XGS Meraki VPN CHA, and click on the VPN name.
- In the VPN settings, locate and select Advanced Options button.
Here, you should see the option for Clear sign-in info. - Click on the Clear sign-in info button.A pop-up may appear to confirm this operation; if it does, confirm that you want to clear the sign-in info.
After performing these steps, the sign-in information for your selected VPN connection should now be cleared in Windows 11. The next time you connect to the VPN, you will need to re-enter your credentials.
